Get those quick shifts on the track with our new bolt-on short shifter for the Lexus IS200!
This chassis mounted shifter shortens the throw by about 60% and has a fully configurable lock-out for both left and right shifter directions, accessible via a standard pull-up ring.
With the lockout function you can set reverse gear to be inaccessible without pulling up the ring, but also 5th and 6th if you want to avoid mis shifting from 2nd to 5th when you're aiming for 3rd. You can even choose to include 1st and 2nd on the left lockout, so they can only be accessed via the ring. You can readjust this on the track without pulling out the shifter.
The length of the shifter places it higher up, closer to the steering wheel for shorter hand travel, which combined with the shorter throw and impossibility of missed shifts will give you an edge over the competition.
To tighten things up even more, we include a brass insert for the engagement ball on the bottom that replaces the sloppy plastic one. With everything installed shifting becomes mechanical and very positive.
Our shifters are made in-house out of CNC machined billet aluminium, steel base plate and CNC machined steel engagement ball linkage, zinc plated.
The gear knobs are made out of billet aluminium, anodized in black and red, with an option of clear coated brushed natural aluminium. In the works is also a white Delrin option which will be available soon.
We can make any size knob, although we find the standard shape to be the most comfortable in our hands. Still, if you require a different shape - please get in touch with your requirements.

Note: With the shifter installed, the interior trim piece holding the ashtray and cigarette lighter has to be modified or removed in order to make room for the shifter mechanism.

It should also be compatible with the SXE10 Toyota Altezza RS200 as well, but we haven't explicitly tested on this model. The shifter may also be compatible with other cars using the J160 gearbox, but the mounting has to be modified since the chassis will be different.
